ABAY’s second album, titled Love and Distortion, will be released on the 1st June on the new Lovers and Friends arm of the famous Unter Schafen label, the band has confirmed.
Liverpool-born blues singer-songwriter Raphael Callaghan will play his first London show for many years on the 10th April at The Islington pub. Callaghan has been making music since the ’60s but has flown under the radar ever since his first recorded sessions on harmonica in 1969.
His first fully solo LP Said and Done was released last year to critical acclaim, receiving airplay far and wide, including on BBC Merseyside and BBC Radio 2, plus a slew of favourable reviews in the British blues press.
Edinburgh Hip Hop trio Young Fathers have returned with their third album proper, Cocoa Sugar.
Last month The Daily Touch wound up after years of producing viral listicles and student writing. They were one of the first external websites I wrote for while at UEA and I really enjoyed making some fun listicles for their site and seeing them widely shared and commented on via Facebook – the university even shared one on their official page.
They had a fair policy with their writers’ work and told us that we could do what we wanted with them once the site closed.

I wanted some practice writing about Women’s Lacrosse before Derby Day but didn’t want to submit this to Concrete since the women have had some good results this year and it’s not fair to write about them going down to a loss against the best team in the division. So I thought I might as well put this up here!
